About the Role

We’re looking for an imaginative and enthusiastic Music & Creative Arts Instructor to inspire pupils aged 11–19. In this role, you will bring Music and a range of creative arts to life through practical, hands‑on, and project‑based learning. You may also contribute to wider curriculum areas such as PSHE and Independent Living Skills, supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, and a range of SEND needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a creative curriculum that reflects pupils’ interests, strengths, and future aspirations. Over time, you may also play a key part in developing accreditation pathways—such as BTEC or similar qualifications—to help pupils progress toward meaningful next steps.

Working closely with our Quality of Education team, you will design accessible and engaging lessons, create a calm and purposeful learning environment, and embed trauma‑informed, relational approaches that meet the needs of every learner.

What You’ll Do

Deliver Music and Creative Arts lessons across KS3–KS5, adapting learning to meet a diverse range of SEND needs.
Use creative, practical teaching strategies to engage pupils and support their academic, social, and emotional progress.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
Track and report on pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
Participate fully in school life, including enrichment clubs, creative projects, off‑site learning, and whole‑school events.
About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Qualified with PGCE/QTS or equivalent (ECTs welcome).
We can also consider applicants without QTS, who may be appointed as an Instructor.
Experienced in Music and one or more creative or digital subjects (e.g., Creative Arts/Media, Computing, IT, Art).
Confident with digital tools and open to developing new skills.
Skilled at planning, differentiating, and adapting lessons for varied abilities and learning styles.
Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
Collaborative, creative, and committed to inclusive practice.
Enthusiastic about contributing to enrichment activities and digital or creative projects.
