About the Role
At Bankside School, we believe every child should maximise their potential. We are seeking an inspirational and passionate Head of Computing who is committed to raising achievement through personalised, engaging learning experiences. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who can drive high standards, re‑engage learners, and deliver an exceptional Computing curriculum in a supportive and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, development and continual review of the Computing curriculum, ensuring it meets national standards, promotes digital literacy and online safety, and supports individual learning needs.
Deliver a balanced, inclusive programme of learning that promotes participation, achievement and progression for all pupils.
Develop, support and organise teaching and support staff to secure high‑quality teaching and strong professional standards across the department.
Drive continuous improvement through clear objectives, annual planning and rigorous self‑evaluation informed by internal and external benchmarks.
Work with the Head of Quality of Education to implement strategic and operational plans that raise standards and improve outcomes across Computing.
Ensure the Computing timetable, curriculum and intervention programmes enable all pupils to achieve and make progress.
Uphold high expectations for learning, behaviour, professional development and contribution to the school’s ethos.
Collaborate with the SENCo to maintain effective systems for tracking, recording and monitoring pupil progress, supporting organisational planning and meeting inspection requirements.
About You
UK QTS or equivalent
Able to plan, organise and deliver learning and associated activity to meet accreditation requirements in Computing.
Able to stimulate and engage learners through techniques, methods and activities that interest and motivate them to learn and achieve.
Able to provide differentiated resources to engage all pupils of varying abilities within a class.

Bankside School is an exciting new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school caters for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities.
For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
