Summary

Ready to take the next step in your social media career? Join our dynamic Marketing, Recruitment and Communications department and play a key role in shaping how the University of Portsmouth engages with prospective and current students across our digital platforms.

We’re looking for a collaborative, organised and creative Social Media Officer to help us deliver meaningful engagement, manage ambassador activity, and support our sentiment and reputation‑management work. In this role, you’ll coordinate Student Ambassadors, create and optimise social content, monitor online conversations, and contribute to large‑scale recruitment and university events.

What we’re looking for:

- Experience managing or supporting social media engagement across multiple channels
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage workflows, deadlines and stakeholders
- Excellent written communication and an understanding of how to adapt tone for different audiences
- Confidence in interpreting data, insights and sentiment to inform decision‑making
- A creative mindset, with the ability to develop content and engagement approaches that resonate with students
- Experience line managing or mentoring would be beneficial
