Summary

Job Title: Deputy Manager
Reports to: Home Manager

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in delivering safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care. You will provide clinical leadership to the nursing and care teams, ensuring residents receive person-centred care that promotes dignity, choice, and wellbeing while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the home.
- Take responsibility for clinical governance and oversee the service in the absence of the Home Manager.
- Ensure care delivery meets CQC requirements and aligns with company policies and procedures.
- Provide mentoring, supervision, and leadership to nurses and care staff.
- Conduct clinical audits and ensure continuous improvement in care standards.
- Review and update care plans to reflect residents’ individual needs.
- Oversee medication management and ensure accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Support pre-admission assessments, risk assessments, and ongoing evaluation of residents’ needs.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, residents’ families, and external agencies to ensure continuity of care.

Skills & Attributes:

- Previous Deputy Home Manager experience.
- Ability to engage with service users to understand their needs and deliver excellent care.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and referral pathways for adult protection.
- Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
- Strong relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals, families, visitors, and staff teams.
- Ability to involve residents and families in developing, agreeing, and evaluating care programmes.

Education & Qualifications:

- NMC Registered Nurse with relevant experience – essential.
