We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Fareham Distribution Centre as a Class 1 Driver with responsibilities to cover training.
The successful applicants will be required to work 45 hours per week, working any five from seven days on a variety of shift patterns, so there will be Saturday or Sunday working dependent on rotas.
The HGV Driver/Trainer/Assessor role delivers high‑quality training, assessments and development for all Drivers, ensuring compliance with company standards across driving, safety and operational performance. Responsibilities will oversee Driver CPC and induction training, driving assessments, refresher training and the maintenance of accurate training records.
Responsibilities also support policy changes, operational risk assessments, SSOW, and contributes to safe‑delivery practice through safety briefs, toolbox talks and improvement initiatives. Essential requirements include a valid Class C+E licence, Driver CPC qualification, and recognised instruction or assessor training (such as RTITB, NRI, or equivalent), along with strong knowledge of transport legislation and safe‑operating standards.
Working closely with Compliance, H&S & DC teams, you will support (as required) accident investigations, safe‑and‑legal audits and the management of Digi cards, licences, CPC cards, tachograph downloads and infringement training. Through the Driver Academy, you will prepare colleagues for HGV examinations and provide post‑test coaching and mentoring to ensure ongoing safe, compliant and high‑standard performance. Experience in delivering driver training, a sound understanding of tachograph and Working Time Directive requirements, and the ability to coach and mentor colleagues are essential.

- Class 1 Licence Holder.
- Driver CPC Holder.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of multi-drop; temperature controlled food deliveries preferred, but not essential.
- Routes vary daily and therefore successful applicants will need to be flexible in work and hours of work (including at short notice).
