As our Principal Section 106 and CIL Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of bringing millions of pounds into Trafford to deliver the infrastructure that makes great places possible. From affordable housing to parks, schools, transport and public realm upgradesyour work will directly improve the lives of residents across the borough.
You’ll be Trafford’s lead expert on S106 and CIL, providing authoritative guidance, ensuring legal compliance, maximising income, and driving proactive, efficient processes across planning, finance and legal teams. This is a pivotal, highprofile role where your expertise, judgment and leadership will shape development outcomes across the borough.
About You
You are a confident, knowledgeable specialist with substantial experience in S106/CIL and a strong grasp of planning legislation. You’re analytical, strategic, influential and can navigate complex negotiations with ease. You thrive in a fastpaced environment, manage competing priorities, and build trust at every level. Above all, you’re motivated by making a lasting difference for local people.
Your style and approach will reflect our values and behaviours: you will be committed to continually learning & improving the way you do things to ensure effective outcomes; you will work together to deliver service; you will enjoy taking personal responsibility to resolve issues and change what you do and how you do it to make a difference.
Applicants must have a degree qualification (or equivalent) in the built environment/town planning or equivalent. You will have 5yrs plus experience of working in a similar environment, using administrative or financial processes and systems and an awareness of the planning system and planning legislation and policy in relation to CIL and planning obligations.
