Summary


Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Emergency Medicine (ST2 equivalent) to commence as soon as possible. Full GMC registration is required. It is essential to have some previous Emergency Medicine experience.

Our department is located in a pleasant part of North London. We have close links with the Royal Free and University College School of Medicine, receiving medical students on a regular basis. The department sees in excess of 120,000 patients per year (25% paediatric.) We are accredited for EM training and receive ACCS and EM registrars from the London Deanery.

A structured weekly protected teaching programme is conducted for the department during your appointment. Comprehensive support materials are available within the department. You will be expected to participate in clinical audit or quality improvement whilst in post. The post offers excellent experience for Medical, Surgical and General Practitioner training.

The directorate is supportive towards professional development of all of our doctors. We are keen to support non-trainee doctors to progress their Emergency Medicine careers by offering quality training opportunities and exam preparation.

The post holder will join a busy department with staff including 14 consultants, 5 ST4 (SpR), 2
ACCS (ST1), 1 GPVTS, 13 FY2 trainees, 22 Junior Clinical Fellows and 19 Specialty Doctors.
The appointee will gain a wide variety of clinical exposure in general medical, surgical and other specialty presentations.

The department has a strong commitment to high standards of patient care and an established reputation in postgraduate training and clinical research.

The directorate is supportive towards professional development of doctors. We are keen to support non-trainee doctors to progress their Emergency Medicine careers by offering quality training opportunities and exam preparation.

We endeavor to do this with the development of internal training programmes including inter-specialty rotations. This will
ensure doctors gain the skills and competencies required to advance in the Emergency Medicine field.
