Year 1 Teacher – Part-time, long-term maternity cover from July 2026, four days a week

Duties as Year 1 Teacher:
- Teach a Year 1 class four days per week for maternity cover
- Deliver high‑quality lessons with planning provided where appropriate
- Support pupils’ literacy, numeracy, phonics, and wider curriculum learning
- Maintain consistent routines and promote positive behaviour
- Adapt teaching to meet varied learning needs, including SEND
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and contribute to assessments
- Work collaboratively with KS1 colleagues to support phase-wide practice
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal Year 1 Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong KS1 experience
- Confident teaching Year 1 and supporting early learning needs
- Effective behaviour and classroom management
- Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- Proactive, reflective, and committed to delivering high‑quality teaching
- Reliable and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
