Role Overview
As a Chef at Elizabeth Finn Homes, you will play a key role in delivering delicious, nutritious meals that meet the needs and preferences of our residents. You will work closely with our catering team to maintain the highest standards of food preparation and presentation, ensuring a positive dining experience for all.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements, including special diets and allergies.
Ensure all food is prepared to high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area following health and safety regulations.
Assist with menu planning and contribute creative ideas for seasonal and resident-preferred dishes.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimise waste.
Work collaboratively with catering staff and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Adhere strictly to food hygiene standards and company policies at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook within the catering and hospitality sector, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and health & safety regulations.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
Flexibility to work part-time hours as required.
Relevant food hygiene certification (e.g. Level 2 Food Hygiene) is essential.
