Grade C1 – Salary £34,434 - £37,280 per annum
North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced, proactive health and safety professional to join the Governance and Business Resilience Team. This post puts you at the heart of health and safety compliance and coordination, working with managers, contractors and partners to ensure effective, compliant and efficient arrangements for health, safety and wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for promoting positive safety culture within a diverse local authority setting.
Job Requirements:
• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent.
• Recognised construction health and safety qualification or evidence of detailed knowledge and application of construction health and safety legislation.
• Sound and proven track record of working within a social housing landlord environment.
• Experience of working within a health and safety compliance role within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpreting legislation into effective and efficient safe working practices.
• Carrying out risk assessments, safety inspections and audits, developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
• Advising and supporting colleagues, partners and contractors in discharging their health and safety duties.
• Accident and incident investigation and the identification and implementation of actions necessary to prevent re-occurrence

• Pragmatic, analytical and pro-active with an ability to identify and implement risk based solutions to complex issues.
• A highly organised, confident, professional and conscientious person
• Competence across all aspects of health and safety
You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of effective, risk based health and safety management systems across a diverse remit which includes construction, social housing landlord duties, employee and contractor health and safety at a technical level. You should demonstrate an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
