Summary

A well-established and growing business based in Staffordshire is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional looking for a varied role within a supportive environment.

The role can be offered on a part-time or full-time basis, and study support is available for candidates currently progressing with their qualifications, although further study beyond AAT Level 4 is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of management accounts, including actuals vs budget/forecast analysis
Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
Producing clear and informative supporting commentary to accompany financial reports
Working closely with business owners/managers to provide financial insight
Maintaining accurate working papers and financial records
Managing purchase and sales ledgers
Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Supporting cash flow forecasting
Liaising with clients and HMRC, handling routine queries
Some payroll support may be required (experience beneficial but not essential)
Additional Experience (Desirable but not Essential)

Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of corporation tax computations and CT600s
Preparation of personal tax returns
Candidate Requirements

Minimum AAT Level 4 qualified (part-qualified or studying towards further qualifications also considered)
Previous experience in a management accounting role
Practice experience advantageous but not essential
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
Confident communicator with a proactive and flexible approach
Strong IT skills including Excel, Sage and Xero, and familiarity with Microsoft Office packages
Car driver required due to the location of the office
