Salary: £28,152 per year
Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 6:00pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)

About the Role
Charlie Caterpillars Day Nursery is looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our leadership team and lead high-quality practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is committed to providing exceptional care, inspiring learning environments, and strong leadership. You will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery while ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and early years education.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager in the daily running of the nursery.
Lead the team, ensuring high-quality, child-centred, play-based learning.
Act as a role model for best practice across the setting.
Support children’s development, wellbeing, and learning through observation, assessment, and planning.
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and involved.
Support children with SEND and additional needs, ensuring appropriate strategies are in place.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and EYFS compliance.
Supervise, mentor, and support staff through supervisions, reviews, and professional development.
Work collaboratively with external professionals and agencies to support children and families.
Contribute to continuous improvement and high-quality provision across the nursery.

What We’re Looking For
Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum).
At least 2 years’ experience working in an EYFS setting with children under 5.
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Understanding of child development, safeguarding, SEND, and inclusion.
Experience supporting staff and promoting high-quality practice.
Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
Passion for improving outcomes and life chances for children.

Working Environment

Enhanced DBS check required.
