Summary

With Mike, work doesn't need to feel like work. One day you might be pottering around the garden sowing seeds, the next you might be off looking for pirate treasures and bottles washed up onshore.

Contract: 12h per week

Essential for this job:
Driver essential who is willing to use their own car. Must be comfortable with supporting with personal hygiene e.g. bathing support

Mike enjoys a good chat, listening to music, shopping, gardening, playing computer games and watching classic 80’s cartoons (ThunderCats are obviously the super-elite tier). Some days might involve treasure hunting or completing a mission so having someone in the team who can drive helps Mike visit places that public transport doesn’t easily reach, opening up more adventures and opportunities. Mikes dream is to find that special someone in his life, and he will need some support in building new relationships.

Mike is autistic and has a learning disability. He sometimes needs support to understand the “why” and the “how” of things. Creativity and curiosity really matter. The team have created a personalised newspaper to help him explore ideas, think about his health, and try new experiences
