Summary
Duties & Responsibilities: Special health checks required by enhanced services ECG recording Phlebotomy BP measuring monitoring Administering of injections as per competencies (shingles, pneumonia, B12, flu, prostap, covid) Chaperoning duties Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing including checks related to chronic conditions i.e. foot checks Helping to raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted Assisting IUCD/Implant fitting including the set up Conforming with clinical waste procedures Urine dipping and onward patient referral as required Stitch removal INR monitoring Wound and leg ulcer dressings Travel vaccinations Cervical smears Purchasing & Stock Control Replenishment of medical consumables ensuring stock levels are kept to the optimum levels for the practice to minimise costs and storage space Returning medical equipment for repair and commissioning new equipment with support from Lead Nurse and Practice Manager Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations Replenishment, stocktaking and monitoring of drugs and injectables including the monitoring of the environment and provision of secure storage
