Duties as English Teacher:

  • Teach English across relevant secondary year groups on a full-time basis
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills
  • Maintain consistent routines and promote positive behaviour
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet varied learning needs and abilities
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaborative curriculum development
  • Support pupils in building confidence and enthusiasm for English
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal English Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong English teaching experience
  • Confident delivering English at KS3 and KS4
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Good organisational and communication abilities
  • Able to motivate and support learners of mixed abilities
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to high‑quality teaching
