Full-Time Position
Talent Education is currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Bury, working with pupils who require additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning by providing consistent guidance, emotional support, and positive behaviour strategies.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils who require additional SEMH support
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies
• Support children in remaining engaged with classroom learning and daily routines
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team to implement individual support plans
• Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence, and positive relationships
• Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Your role will focus on supporting pupils to feel safe, supported, and confident in their learning.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges
• Has experience working in a primary school or educational setting (desirable)
• Demonstrates a patient, calm, and resilient approach
• Has strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Is able to work effectively as part of a supportive school team
• Experience with Read Write Inc. (RWI) or phonics programmes would be beneficial
• A dedicated consultant who understands your experience and career goals
• Opportunities to work in supportive and well-resourced schools
