Summary

To operate the central control alarm system for Lifeline and Sheltered Housing services across Hull on a rotation 24-hour shift basis including weekend and bank holidays. To ensure that an efficient and professional response to the needs of users of the lifeline and sheltered housing Customers to enable them to maintain and maximise their independence in the community and remain safe in their own homes. To assist and support the service in the promotion, development, installation and monitoring of assistive technology products.
You must hold good level of IT and keyboard skills and hold an appropriate NVQ2 qualification and hold level 2 standard of literacy and numeracy.
You must also have the following skills/experience/knowledge;

Customer contact either face to face or over the phone.
Experience of providing services for older and/or vulnerable people.
Excellent communication skills with the elderly and other vulnerable people and to respond in a caring, non-judgemental and sympathetic manner.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work as part of a team/on own initiative.
Working knowledge of IT systems.
Ability to evaluate emergency situations, staying calm and communicating effectively to resolve, at times, life threatening situations whilst remaining assertive.
Ability to provide reassurance to vulnerable people who may be stressed and/or frightened.
Ability to listen and deal with difficult situations where callers may become verbally aggressive.
