Summary
We are currently recruiting Residential Support Workers to join a brand-new, purpose-built children’s residential service in Telford (TF2) supporting children and young people. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly commissioned service from day one, with modern facilities, a supportive leadership team, and real career progression opportunities.
About the Service
The service is a contemporary cul-de-sac of small solo bungalows, specifically designed to support children and young people with: Learning Disabilities / ADHD / Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
The environment has been purpose-built with therapeutic care in mind, creating a fresh, modern and positive place to work – no old, outdated homes. While this is a support-based role, there maybe behaviours that challenge, and depending on referrals there may also be some personal care requirements.
Location
Telford TF2 – Near the main train station and bus routes in Telford central so easily accessible via public transport and local train station links.
Shift Pattern
• 3 days on / 3 days off rolling rota / Day shifts: 7:45am – 8:00pm / Waking nights: 7:45pm – 8:00am with 12 hour shifts (handover may extend to 8:15)
No sleep-ins required, we only have Day and Waking night posts for this role.
Pay Rates
• Unqualified Residential Support Worker: £14.00 per hour after 12 weeks, / approx £27,300 per year
Enhancements
• Double pay on Christmas Day & New Year’s Day / Bank holiday enhancements under review
Benefits
• Pension scheme / Blue Light Card (funded) / Bright Exchange benefits platform / Birthday treats / Funded training & qualifications / Career development pathways / 5.6 weeks holiday, increasing by up to 5 extra days after 5 years service / Supportive management team / State-of-the-art brand new homes
Career Progression
This organisation has major growth plans, with new services planned across:
• Telford / Wolverhampton / Walsall / Birmingham
They also have their own construction and interior design teams, meaning all services are designed and built in-house when needed, ensuring high-quality working environments.
Staff can progress through:
• Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (funded)
• Level 5 Leadership & Management for those wanting to move into senior roles
Requirements
• Previous children’s residential care experience
• Understanding of trauma-informed care
• Experience supporting young people with complex behaviours is beneficial
A UK driving licence is helpful but not essential, however drivers (21+) may be able to use company vehicles for activities, education and appointments.
Start Date: ASAP
Permanent roles available from day one
