Summary
We're looking for a Facilities Co-ordinator with the skills to keep our Thames Valley Group of properties in tiptop condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit and love the places.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
Made famous through Downton Abbey and Bridgerton, Basildon Park, an estate saved from almost certain demolition and lovingly revived, is one of three special places in the Thames Valley Group, the other two being Greys Court and Nuffield Place. Our properties, gardens and wooded parkland offer glorious seasonal colour, with spring bluebells, summer buttercups and autumn leaves offering a peaceful and tranquil place to nurture and grow a flourishing career.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be working in busy visitor operations which are open seven days a week and will be expected to work some bank holidays and weekend days (agreed in advance). As a Facilities Co-ordinator, you’ll make sure our Thames Valley properties operate as they should, by co-ordinating maintenance and repairs (planned and reactive), support high standards of contractor management, assist with day to day supervision of volunteers, and become a lead user of our built asset management system and operational compliance tracker.
You’ll also help the wider property team meet their goals by keeping standards high. You’ll be helping with cleaning and caretaking and maintaining the presentation of public areas and visitor facilities including car parks and grounds.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
Who we're looking for
We'd love to hear from you if you’re:
customer focused with a positive attitude
a team player, but also can work on your own initiative
comfortable using IT packages
well organised and adaptable
happy to learn new skills
The package
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
• Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
• Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
• Rental deposit loan scheme
• Season ticket loan
• EV car lease scheme (for roles that meet the salary criteria)
• Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
• Holiday allowance up to 32 days relating to length of service, plus holiday purchase scheme, subject to meeting minimum criteria.
• Flexible working whenever possible
• Employee assistance programme
• Free parking at most Trust places
