Summary
This is a particularly exciting time for North East Lincolnshire as we embark on our journey to tackle health inequality through our commitment to becoming a Marmot Place. This role will be responsible for leading the Marmot Place agenda, working in partnership with the UCL Institute of Health Equity.
What will your day look like?
Every day in this role brings meaningful challenge and real impact. You’ll apply your specialist public health expertise to analyse complex data, shape evidence‑based strategies, and lead programmes designed to improve health and reduce inequalities across North East Lincolnshire. You will work closely with the Director of Public Health, senior leaders and system partners — influencing priorities, shaping commissioning decisions, and driving forward the Marmot Place agenda with UCL. Your day may include advising elected members, guiding the development of care pathways, presenting insights to boards, and supporting the wider public health system to deliver better outcomes. You’ll build strong relationships across health, social care, and community partners.
The Assistant Director Public Health will play a pivotal role in further shaping the Council’s ambitious vision and priorities for residents. They will play an integral role in transformation by continuing the development of a modern public health offer which supports and enables the council’s ambitions.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our dedicated and ambitious Public Health team. The post holder will report directly to the Director of Public Health and as part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be pivotal in providing public health leadership and advocacy across North East Lincolnshire.
You will have an ability to articulate complicated issues in a way that engages and encourages participation to support the delivery of our emerging programmes. You will have the experience and ability to lead and inspire the team, building great relationships with all key stakeholders across the local system.
Candidates must deliver enabling, progressive and sustainable approaches which underpin the Council’s approach to continuous improvement, transformation and improving outcomes to enable greater impact and ensure a better, brighter, more prosperous future for every resident in North East Lincolnshire.
