Langdale Chase Hotel, which sits on the banks of beautiful Lake Windermere, has recently undergone a full and significant refurbishment and reopened its doors in November 2023. In that time the hotel has achieved 5 Star Status from the AA and been recognised in the prestigious Times Top 100 Places to Stay, ranked No.3 and North of England Hotel of the Year.
We are looking for an experienced Skipper to oversee the operation of all water sports equipment and captaining our boat for fourt voyages per day.
Your day to day;
- To safely navigate the boat four times per day, following all local regulation and avoiding hazards
- To be responsible for the health and safety of guests on the boat and those utilising the water sports equipment
- To assist with the maintenance of the boat
- To take part in training as required, ensuring that the appropriate standards are upheld.
- To do daily, weekly and monthly cheeks on the boat
- To support hotel departments as and when required during low season
Who are we looking for?
This is a really exciting opportunity to be part of the team for a luxury hotel as an experienced Skipper over seeing the operation of our boat voyages, conducting four boat voyages per day. You must be highly organised and focused with a great eye for detail and a genuine passion for providing warm hospitality. You will already be an experienced Skipper, with experience of conducting lake voyages for the public.
Qualifications in RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Safety Boat, Full Driving License is essential as well as experience in large boat helming. You will be fully aware of all health and safety requirements with experience of conducting boat maintenance checks. We’re looking for someone who is a confident communicator who can bring their personality to the role.
As the needs of our guests are our highest priority, there may require some flexibility to work at the weekends to support with the on-going demands of the business. During low season there may be the requirement to support other hotel departments.
