Join Our Team as a Children and Young People (CYP) Programme Officer at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service!

Are you passionate about inspiring young people and improving community safety? Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, the largest non-metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service in England, is on the lookout for a CYP Programme Officer to join our Community Safety team at our Service Headquarters in Exeter and help shape impactful education programmes that make a real difference across Devon and Somerset. This is a permanent, full-time position (37 hours per week) that offers a competitive salary starting at £33,699 rising annually to £36,363 per annum.

As a CYP Programme Officer, you will support the delivery and development of high-quality education and intervention programmes for children and young people, including Fire Cadets, Phoenix, and School visits. Working with the Education Coordinator, you will help ensure our programmes are engaging, safe and aligned with national best practice.

What you’ll do

-Deliver and support Fire Cadets and other youth programmes in line with national guidance
-Provide supervision and support to Education Advocates and Cadet Instructors
-Contribute to quality assurance, evaluation and continuous improvement
-Support safeguarding processes and respond appropriately to concerns
-Develop and maintain programme resources, including the Fire Cadets handbook
-Assist with Community Safety Campaigns and wider Prevention activities
-Monitor budgets, data compliance and performance standards

-Confidence working collaboratively with partners and internal teams.
