Summary

As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £12.75 per hour we're currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2026.

Contract/duration: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year permanent annualised - You'll work 500 hours per year. You'll work more hours at peak times and less in quieter times.

Hours/working pattern: Weekly shifts will vary and include regular weekend working and some bank holidays. Shifts tend to be a mix of 10am - 2pm, 8.45 – 4pm (winter) or 8.45 – 5pm

What it's like to work here
Kedleston is a growing visitor attraction just 5 miles from Derby city centre, welcoming 250,000 visitors each year for parkland walks and to see the inside the hall and museum.

Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 10 working at Kedleston Hall based at the visitor reception. Some parts of the role will require you to be outdoors as part of the visitor welcome, such as issuing the trampers to visitors, driving the access buggy or supporting in the car park.

What you'll be doing
Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience and give a warm welcome to every visitor. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. You will promote the charity and benefits of membership to visitors, and process all visitors through the till system. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from driving the access buggy to transport visitors to the hall, to supporting in the car park on busy days. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
