AutoCAD Technician / Designer
Sherwood Aluminium Systems Ltd – Mansfield
Sherwood Aluminium is a reputable design and installation company based in Mansfield, Nottingham. We offer a full nationwide service from initial design through to the delivery of fully bespoke aluminium systems for shops, office developments and commercial projects, whether for a brand new venture or improvements to an existing project.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an AutoCAD Technician / Designer to join our team.
We are manufacturers and installers with a long-established and growing UK presence, offering a full range of commercial fenestration products including windows, doors, curtain walling and entrance systems.
The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing projects and producing working drawings with a high level of technical complexity, which will be installed on a nationwide basis.
You will liaise with main contractors, architects and project teams, and will be involved in procurement while supporting projects from inception through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing detailed AutoCAD working drawings for commercial fenestration projects
Running and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Liaising and communicating regularly with architects and main contractors
Supporting projects from design stage through to completion
Maintaining strong relationships with contractors and project stakeholders
Ensuring projects are completed within realistic and achievable timeframes
Demonstrating dedication and willingness to put in the hours required to achieve results and meet deadlines
Key Skills
Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
Good understanding of construction contracts
Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and AutoCAD
Strong attention to detail
Experience within the glazing or fenestration industry
Knowledge of aluminium glazing systems such as Senior, Kawneer, Schuco, etc.
Professional and positive approach
Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
A team player who can also work on their own initiative
Location
Office-based role in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
The Person
We are seeking a proven Fenestration or Facade AutoCAD Technician with a strong understanding of commercial fenestration systems.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success working on a range of commercial glazing or fenestration projects.
