Summary
Senior Specialist Radiographer rotational in Plain Film based at Queens Hospital Burton. This is a band 6 post requiring significant protectional radiography and theatre experience.
The Senior Specialist Radiographer will work closely as part of the multi-disciplinary team in the imaging department, taking direction from supervisory staff, superintendents and radiologists while acting as a team leader to junior colleagues and students.
• To work as part of the cross site radiographic team, carrying out both general and more complex radiographic examinations, in an efficient and caring manner. Maintaining the highest possible standards of radiography, with due regard for the Trust’s Health and Safety and Radiation Protection Policies, working without direct supervision. Supervise as required Radiographers, Student Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
• Develop the knowledge and skills to proactively support junior radiographers to participate in the full range of examinations performed within the screening room
• To work as a senior radiographer in plain film participating in the out of hours shift system.
• To deputise for the Plain film superintendent in their absence.
