The home offers 119 purpose designed bedrooms across three floors and provides complex nursing care, specialist dementia support and residential mental health care within a safe, structured and supportive environment focused on dignity, stability and wellbeing.

- £12.71 per hour
- Full time and part time contracts available
- Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract
The Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and delivering high quality meals while helping maintain a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment.
You will assist with the preparation of meals and help ensure food is prepared efficiently and to a high standard. Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene and safety.
You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation across the kitchen area, including work surfaces, equipment and utensils, ensuring a hygienic environment is maintained at all times. You will also receive and check kitchen deliveries, ensuring items are correctly stored and stock rotation procedures are followed.
You will assist with cleaning procedures for kitchen surfaces and equipment, ensuring all areas are sanitised and maintained to the highest standard. In addition, you will help ensure crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment are cleaned and stored safely.
Your role will also involve following safe systems of work, understanding food safety principles and adhering to health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment. Working as part of the wider team, you will help ensure residents receive nutritious, well prepared meals within a safe and supportive care setting.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment is desirable but not essential
