About the Role
Example Primary School is looking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, engaging and supportive environment for children aged 4–11 at the end of the school day.
You will support the running of our after-school club by supervising children, assisting with activities, and helping create a positive and fun atmosphere where pupils can relax and enjoy themselves after lessons.
After-school clubs aim to offer a safe place for children while supporting play, creativity and social development.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise children during after-school club sessions

Support and lead activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports and homework help

Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils

Assist with preparing and serving snacks

Set up and tidy away equipment and activity areas

Communicate with parents and carers during pick-up times

Follow school policies including safeguarding and health & safety procedures
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys working with children aged 4–11

Is caring, reliable and enthusiastic
-
Has good communication and teamwork skills
-
Can encourage positive behaviour and inclusive play
-
Has experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
A childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Playwork) would be an advantage.

Example Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or be in possession of an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
