Summary

The Governors and Head Teacher of Chiseldon Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint a caring, resilient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will work closely with a pupil requiring additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking someone who can build a positive and trusting relationship with the child and demonstrate the ability to use appropriate strategies to support engagement with learning, in line with the school’s wellbeing policy and pastoral approach. The successful candidate will: • support and promote the ethos and values of the school
• demonstrate patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach
• build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• demonstrate an understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to implement strategies that support engagement and regulation
• recognise the importance of confidentiality within a school environmentEssential Qualifications • Good general level of education including Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
• Experience of working with children in an educational settingDesirable Experience • Experience of supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs
• Experience of working with pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculumThe role is for 22 hours per week. This post is fixed term until August 2029 and is linked to pupil funding. We are seeking a candidate who is able to start as soon as possible. Visits to the school to meet our children and staff are warmly welcomed.
