Summary

See attached job description document This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an established rehabilitation team, working with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists & Therapy Assistants, to optimise the recovery and outcomes for people admitted to hospital, following trauma, poly-trauma, SCI, head injury, MSK & plastic injuries. Main Roles: To work flexibly within a large In-patient trauma therapies team, comprising of Physiotherapist, Occupational therapists and therapy assistants both band 3 & 4 alongside the wider trauma multidisciplinary team. The role of the therapy assistant is To assist the Therapy team in rehabilitating patients following trauma/ polytrauma /spinal, plastics & MSK injuries that may require orthopaedic /spinal & plastic surgery to optimise patient recovery and outcomes. To support patient centred rehabilitation tofacilitate timely, safe discharge, reflecting individual choice and maximising an individuals independence. To provide holistic interventions for patients with indirect supervision, working to providetreatment plans for non-complex patients, apply appropriate protocols whilst always being accountable to a registered practitioner. To accurately record patient information utilising electronic patient records. To record and input data onto IT systems asrequired. Tomaintain rehabilitation equipment in the department / wards. To contribute to the trauma therapies team in-service training programmes To complete the trusts care certificate and trauma therapies competencies for the role. To undertake quality improvement projects and developments within the trauma therapies team. Tocomply with trust policies including annual appraisal & monthly supervision sessions. To always uphold and promote trust values.
