Summary
Are you an inspiring, forward-thinking system leader ready to shape the future of patient care across our communities?
Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS FT is seeking a dynamic Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer (CSTO) who will also serve as Deputy Chief Executive (DCEO) - pivotal role at the heart of our organisation.
If you’re driven by purpose, fuelled by improvement, and excited by the opportunity to make a profound impact on health and care across our community—we’d love to hear from you.
As CSTO & DCEO, you’ll be a key member of our Executive Team and Trust Board, responsible for driving strategic direction, transformation, and digital modernisation across our organisation. You will champion innovation, shape our long-term vision, and support our Chief Executive, deputising fully in their absence.
You’ll join a collaborative, supportive Executive Team committed to creating a workplace where colleagues thrive, innovation flourishes, and patient care continually improves.
We employ more than 5,000 colleagues across Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Royal Primary Care and DSFS (Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services) and we also have some fantastic volunteers supporting our services. Here at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, we provide a full range of district general services, including 24-hour urgent and emergency care, specialist children’s services, maternity and community midwifery to the population of North Derbyshire – around 400,000 local people. We also offer primary care services through nine GP surgeries in Chesterfield and Derbyshire.
This is an exciting year for our Trust, with our new ‘Improving Care Together' strategy launching in April. Shaped through meaningful conversations with patients, staff, volunteers and partners, this strategy captures our ambition to continually raise the quality of care we provide and to respond to the changing needs of our patients and communities.
We’re seeking an inclusive, values-driven leader with:
• Significant executive/board-level experience in a complex setting
• A strong track record of strategic transformation and major organisational change
• Thorough knowledge of NHS governance, performance, and regulatory frameworks
• Exceptional communication, political acumen and relationship-building skills
• A passion for digital innovation and improvement
• Leadership that reflects our Proud to CARE values: Compassion • Ambition • Respect • Encouragement
