Summary

Job Title: Assistant Site Manager - New Build Housing (NHBC Traditional Build)
Location: Preston, Lancashire

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a high-quality NHBC traditional build residential development in Preston. The successful candidate will assist the Site Manager in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring homes are built to programme, budget, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Site Operations

  • Assist the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of the construction site.

  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.

  • Monitor build progress against the construction programme and report any delays or issues.

  • Support the management of traditional build housing plots from groundwork through to completion.

Quality Control

  • Ensure all homes are constructed in accordance with NHBC standards and building regulations.

  • Carry out regular plot inspections and maintain quality records.

  • Assist with snagging and defect management to ensure homes are completed to a high standard.

Health & Safety

  • Promote and enforce strict health and safety procedures on site.

  • Conduct site inductions for new operatives and visitors.

  • Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and daily site checks.

Programme & Coordination

  • Help manage the site programme to ensure key milestones are met.

  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate works.

  • Support deliveries and material management on site.

Customer Care

  • Assist with plot handovers and ensure homes meet customer expectations.

  • Help address any pre-completion issues in coordination with the customer care team.

Requirements

  • Experience working on new build residential developments.

  • Understanding of traditional build construction methods.

  • Knowledge of NHBC standards and inspections.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain site standards.
