Summary


This Specialist Clinical Fellow (non‑training) role in Trauma and Orthopaedics offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high‑quality trauma and elective orthopaedic services across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be primarily based at Frimley Park Hospital, with elective work undertaken at Heatherwood Hospital and outpatient clinics delivered in Aldershot, Farnham and Fleet.

The successful candidate will play an active role in the Trauma and Orthopaedic on‑call rota and will support the supervision and development of junior medical staff, helping to ensure safe, effective and patient‑centred care.

Please note this is a 6 month fixed term role.

The post holder will provide safe, high‑quality trauma and elective orthopaedic care under appropriate consultant supervision, supporting inpatient, outpatient and operative services across the Trust. They will contribute to clinical governance through involvement in audit, quality improvement and patient‑safety activities, and will take an active role in teaching and supervising junior medical staff.

• Provide safe and effective trauma and elective orthopaedic care across the Trust.
• Participate in ward rounds, inpatient management, trauma assessment in ED, and trauma/elective operating lists and clinics at Frimley Park, Heatherwood and peripheral sites.
• Support and supervise junior doctors, working collaboratively with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Recognise own limitations and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Contribute to teaching, audit, quality improvement and wider clinical governance activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to Trust policies and GMC Good Medical Practice.
• Engage in appraisal, revalidation and mandatory training requirements.
