Summary

We're looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Adviser to join our MEP team team in the North.

Location: Flexible. This role will be supporting the Kier Mechanical and Electrical business working on projects predominantly located within our Northern and Scotland as well as Eastern and Midlands business unitsBusiness Unit: Kier Mechanical & Electrical

As an HSW Adviser, you'll play a vital role in creating and maintaining safe, healthy workplaces across our construction projects. You'll provide comprehensive guidance on HSW management policies, conduct thorough inspections, lead accident investigations, and offer valuable support to ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of each day.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adviser, you'll be working within the MEP business partnering with the Construction team, supporting them in delivering safe and healthy working environments. Your day to day will include:

-The role will require regular delivery of internal training packages such as the Kier Construction Behavioural Safety Programme “Think Safety Differently”.

-Conducting regular site audits and inspections to identify safe and unsafe working practices, providing practical recommendations for improvement

-Supporting the implementation of Construction Phase Plans, Electrical and Mechanical Safe Systems of Work, and Wellbeing strategies

-Promoting and participating in Kier's Behavioural Safety Programme; Think Safety Differently

-Collaborating with project teams and supply chain partners to ensure consistent HSW standards

-Contributing to accident investigations and developing preventative measures



What are we looking for?

This role of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adviser is great for you if:

-You have experience in construction safety, health and wellbeing, with a good understanding of HSW legislation

-You're working towards or have achieved Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or another relevant professional qualification

-You're collaborative with excellent communication skills, able to build relationships at all levels

-You're organised and can manage your own workload effectively

-You care about making a positive difference to people's wellbeing and safety at work
