Summary

We’re looking for an inspiring and forward‑thinking leader to drive innovation and excellence across Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automotive Technologies. As Head of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering, you will guide one of the College’s most strategically important curriculum areas, shaping future skills, strengthening industry partnerships and supporting learners to thrive in an ever‑evolving sector. About the Role: Reporting to the Assistant Principal Curriculum, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous enhancement of high‑quality, industry‑aligned programmes. You will champion innovative teaching, ensure curriculum relevance, and foster a culture where learners develop cutting‑edge technical and analytical skills. You will motivate and develop your teams, strengthen employer engagement, and contribute directly to the College Transformation Plan.
What You’ll Bring Essential Qualifications & Experience
• SCQF Level 8 or equivalent in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing or Automotive
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., TQFE)
• Significant leadership experience within Advanced Manufacturing or Engineering
• Strong background in curriculum planning, quality assurance and continuous improvement
• Proven success improving KPIs, culture and operational performance • Experience managing teams, budgets and complex projects Desirable • Assessor/verifier awards
• Industry qualifications
• Experience leading structured projects
• Strong external partnership or stakeholder engagement experience
