Summary
Bertie and Belle is a children's hair salon brand with over 20 years of history and a loyal following. Our Bristol salon opened 14 months ago and is growing fast and we are now looking for the right person to help take it to the next level.
We are looking for an experienced stylist who is ready to step into a working Salon Manager role and lead the salon floor. This individual will be someone who loves cutting hair, is confident leading a small team, and takes real pride in delivering an exceptional experience every time.
Working Pattern
This role is primarily Saturday and Sunday, full days these are by far our busiest trading days and when we need our strongest team on the floor.
Our Bristol salon is 14 months old, which means you will be joining at an exciting stage. The reputation is growing, the client base is building, and there is real opportunity to put your stamp on what this salon becomes. You will not be stepping into something finished; you will be helping shape it.
Beyond weekends, there are regular opportunities for additional hours during school half terms, summer holidays, and to provide holiday cover for the rest of the team. For the right person, this role has genuine scope to grow into something more substantial over time.
The Role
This is a working manager position, you will typically be leading a team of 2–3 stylists during our busiest trading periods, spending your time both cutting hair and leading the salon floor. You will set the standard for service, support your colleagues, and help ensure every child and parent leaves happy.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for:
Salon Leadership
– Leading the salon floor during busy periods
– Supporting and guiding other stylists
– Maintaining a calm, organised and welcoming environment for children and parents
Haircut Delivery
– Delivering high-quality children's haircuts efficiently and confidently
– Setting the standard for service and care across the team
Operations
– Opening and closing the salon
– Monitoring stock levels and placing orders when needed
– Ensuring payments are processed correctly and bookings reconcile with transactions
– Maintaining organisation and cleanliness standards throughout
What We Are Looking For
– 4–5+ years of salon experience
– Previous experience as a lead stylist or in a management role
– Confidence working in a fast-paced, busy salon environment
– A calm, organised approach — especially around children and families
– Someone who takes genuine pride in excellent customer service
– Experience cutting children's hair is preferred, but not essential
