Working Foreman – Groundworks / Civils
Location: Kent / South East
Rate: £200 – £220 per day (CIS) or £52,000 – £57,000 per annum (Permanent)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Working Foreman to join a growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering projects across Kent and the South East.
The company works with private developers, commercial clients and public sector organisations, delivering groundworks and infrastructure packages on residential developments and commercial schemes.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable leading a gang on site while remaining actively involved in the works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervising groundworks operatives and subcontractors on site
• Leading by example and working alongside the site team when required
• Coordinating daily site activities and ensuring works are carried out to programme
• Ensuring high standards of health & safety on site
• Liaising with the Site Manager and engineers
• Organising plant, materials and labour on site
• Ensuring works are completed to drawings and specifications
• Conducting toolbox talks and maintaining site records
Project Types
Projects typically include:
• Residential housing developments
• Groundworks and infrastructure packages
• Drainage installations
• Foundations and concrete works
• Roads, kerbs and external works
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Working Foreman / Groundworks Foreman
• Strong background in groundworks and civil engineering
• Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors
• Ability to read drawings and coordinate works on site
• Strong focus on health & safety
• SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
• CSCS card required
