The successful candidate will ensure patients with cancer, who are admitted non-electively, receive seamless, expert care for disease complications or treatment toxicity. You'll coordinate streamlined pathways and drive clinically optimal decisions.

You'll work independently and collaboratively within the MDT - including parent oncologists, site-specific CNSs, acute physicians, ED, and ward teams. You'll deliver expert clinical care, advice, and leadership to maintain service excellence.

Key responsibilities:
• Triaging auto-generated alerts for new oncology admissions
• Assessing patients with acute oncology conditions
• Diagnosing and guiding management of oncology conditions and emergencies
• Supporting referrals across specialties
• Delivering education and training to healthcare professionals
• Contributing to service development and audit

Our Proud to CARE philosophy supports this vision - and we all play a part in achieving it, by living up to the values we promise to our patients and each other. As members of staff we will always:

· Show COMPASSION– treating our patients and colleagues with consideration, kindness and respect

· Aim for high ACHIEVEMENT– providing excellent care, safe services, high standards and a positive experience every time

· Foster RELATIONSHIPS– being socially responsible, working openly and honestly with our patients, staff, partners and communities to improve what we do

· Create the right ENVIRONMENT– providing the tools and equipment that support a modern, eco-friendly, clean and safe environment

We're seeking a compassionate, highly motivated nurse with excellent communication skills, resilience, flexibility, and adaptability in this rewarding, evolving specialty.

You'll demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and stay current with regional/national acute oncology advances. Audit and service improvement participation is essential, alongside familiarity with acute oncology guidelines to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

Above all, we're seeking a nurse with the passion, drive, and commitment to enhance acute oncology pathways at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
