Summary

Highways Operatives

Industry: civil engineering

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 7.30am - 4.30pm ( 39 hours per week, overtime may be required/available)

Days: Monday - Friday

Duration: immediate start - ongoing

Duties:

Groundswork and civil engineering duties,
operation of machinery power and hand tools,
drainage, concreting, kerbing/ block laying and tarmacking.
Manual handling duties, unloading and loading vehicles
driving, vehicle checks and reporting maintenance,
adherence to health and safety and highways regulations, technical specifications and quality standards.

Experience:

Must have good level of previous groundswork experience including hand lay tarmac.
Must have a full driver’s license, 7.5 tonne (C1) driving license preferred.
Street works and NPORS plant operator tickets an advantage.
Must be physically fit, due to the nature of the duties.
Must be able to work well as part of a team, outdoors, in all weathers, with good health and safety awareness.

Salary: £13.38per hour worked, rates increase after 12 weeks. Overtime paid at time and a half. PAYE
