Summary


At Barts Health, we are passionate about getting it right for our patients and their families. To achieve this, we are looking to appoint an outstanding individual to the post of Senior Sister/Charge Nurse within the Older Peoples Service at the Royal London Hospital.

We are seeking an individual who has the integrity, drive and commitment to build upon the achievements made thus far and who will continue to lead the nursing team in providing the best quality care for this client group and their families. To be successful you will need to be committed to ensuring patients are treated with dignity, care and compassion.

Whilst working alongside a fellow Band 7, you will be managing a diverse team of nurses and healthcare support workers. We will support you to develop in your role as a leader within the exciting field of elderly care with the aim of providing an exceptional standard of care

You will work both clinical and managerial shifts as part of your role and will be expected to ensure that quality indicators are achieved and when necessary, ensure effective and continuous evaluation and actions are taken where appropriate.

· To be a professional role model, leading and coordinating the ward/department team. Taking continuing responsibility and accountability for the 24-hour management and organization of the ward. This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities. To work both clinically and managerially.

· Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualized care to patients /clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.

· At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery.

· To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.

· To ensure that the unit is well led and that the teams are being proactive in the delivery of care.
