Your new role
We are seeking a flexible and skilled SEN English Teacher with strong KS3 and KS4 English experience. In this unique role, you will deliver individually tailored lessons to pupils with a wide range of needs, including PMLD and SLD.
You will teach both 1:1 and small groups, adapting your approach to meet the needs of students who may be experiencing medical, emotional, or complex learning challenges. The role requires someone confident moving between hospital and school environments and working collaboratively with healthcare and education teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver KS3-KS4 English lessons matched to individual learning needs
- Adapt teaching for students with PMLD, SLD, and additional medical or emotional needs
- Provide high quality, personalised support in hospital and school settings
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support each pupil's wellbeing and progress
- Maintain excellent safeguarding and inclusive practice
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will need:
- QTS and strong subject knowledge in KS3-KS4 English
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD/SLD
- A flexible, calm, and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Resilience and adaptability when working in varied learning environments
- A commitment to personalised SEN provision and safeguarding
