Summary
Your new company
Hays Education is a market-leading recruitment agency working in partnership with secondary schools across the Wigan area. With increasing demand for high‑quality supply teachers, we offer regular and flexible work to suit your lifestyle. Whether you are an experienced teacher or newly qualified, we are committed to supporting your development and placing you in schools where you can thrive.
Your new role
As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across a range of year groups, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. You can choose from day-to-day, short-term, or long-term placements depending on your availability. We work closely with local schools in Wigan and the surrounding areas, providing you with consistent work and the opportunity to build strong relationships within supportive school environments.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or PGCE).
- Recent teaching experience within UK primary, secondary, or SEN settings.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- A passion for supporting student learning and adapting to different classrooms.
- An updated CV and willingness to complete all relevant safeguarding checks.
If you don't have a PGCE, QTS, QTLS or recent teaching experience, you can register as a cover supervisor, provided you have worked with children for 1 month in the past 4 years. We welcome applicants from other agencies.
What you'll get in return
- Competitive daily pay rates, paid weekly.
- Flexible work that fits around your commitments.
- Exclusive access to long-term and permanent opportunities.
- Ongoing professional development and free safeguarding training.
- A dedicated Hays consultant based locally to support you throughout your journey.
