Summary
The Best Connection is currently recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist / Joinery Machinist to join a busy bespoke joinery workshop producing high-quality timber products for a variety of commercial projects.
The workshop specialises in bespoke joinery manufacturing for a wide range of developments. Products manufactured include windows, doors, staircases, reception desks, fitted bedroom furniture, and other custom timber pieces. Projects are supplied to sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, education, and residential care facilities.
This role would suit someone with experience as a wood machinist, joinery machinist, spindle moulder operator, or bench joiner with machining experience who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality joinery components.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:00
Pay:
£15.00 per hour
What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible for producing high-quality bespoke joinery components using a variety of woodworking machinery, working both independently and as part of a skilled workshop team.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Working from technical drawings and specifications to machine timber components accurately
* Setting up, operating, and adjusting woodworking machinery, including traditional machines such as spindle moulders and panel saws
* Selecting and changing tooling to achieve the required profiles and finishes
* Measuring, setting out, and preparing timber materials for machining
* Carrying out routine machine checks and maintenance to ensure equipment is used safely
* Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all work produced
* Supporting general joinery workshop activities when required
What We Are Looking For
* Previous experience in a wood machinist, joinery machinist, or similar woodworking role
* A relevant qualification in carpentry, joinery, or wood occupations, or time-served experience
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
* Strong timekeeping and the ability to work to production deadlines
* A flexible and proactive approach with the ability to adapt to changing workshop priorities
