Summary

Construction Plant / Diesel Fitter

Cardiff | Monday - Friday | 7:30am - 4:30pm | Workshop

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of our client; a reputable and growing plant hire and maintenance company, for experienced Heavy Plant Fitters based in Cardiff.

You will be responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of a wide range of heavy plant machinery, both in the workshop and on site.

Experience of maintaining bobile plant including Caterpillar, Komatsu Teres etc is required. You will be working on mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic aspects of Loading Shovels, Excavators, Dump Trucks and other machines.

The Role:
  • Troubleshooting: you'll carry out diagnostics and fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems across various plant machinery.
  • Equipment: typical machines include excavators, telehandlers, rollers, dumpers, and crushers from a variety of well-known manufacturers.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Mechanical Knowledge: strong understanding of heavy plant mechanics with a focus on hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
  • Brand Experience: prior experience working with brands such as JCB, Hitachi, Volvo, CAT, and Kubota is highly desirable.
  • Health & Safety: you will follow site safety protocols and ensure all plant is operating to a safe standard.
  • Independent Working: the ideal candidate will be a reliable and proactive individual capable of working independently or as part of a small team.
