Summary

We're currently recruiting passionate and dedicated Primary Supply Teachers to join our dedicated supply team in North Somerset and Surrounding Areas!

If you're a qualified teacher (with QTS) seeking flexible opportunities, wanting to maintain your work-life balance, or looking to gain varied experience across different primary schools while bringing your enthusiasm to early years and key stage teaching — we have fantastic placements waiting for you.

We have ongoing demand for enthusiastic primary teachers who can cover Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, including those with strengths in phonics, early reading, maths mastery, creative curriculum delivery, or supporting children with additional needs.

Why join us as a supply Primary Teacher?

• Flexible assignments to suit your availability — day-to-day cover, short-term (1-6 weeks), or longer-term placements (term or full academic year)
• Work in a range of excellent primary schools (including infant, junior, primary, and all-through settings) across North Somerset and surrounding areas (such as Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead, Nailsea, Yatton, Backwell, Winscombe, Wrington, Banwell, Cheddar, Axbridge, Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, and nearby locations including parts of Bristol South and Mendip)
• Competitive daily pay rates — typically £140–£200+ per day (depending on your experience, qualifications, length of assignment, and any specialisms — higher rates often apply for EYFS expertise, SEN experience, or longer bookings)
• Personal support from our local consultants who know the North Somerset and surrounding primary schools inside out
• Build a varied CV with experience across different year groups, school types, and educational approaches
• Clear pathways to long-term roles or permanent positions in our partner schools
• Access to free CPD sessions, primary-specific training (e.g., phonics, behaviour management, safeguarding), and updates

What we're looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (ECTs/NQTs welcome!)
• Proven experience teaching in primary settings (recent classroom experience preferred, but we value strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm, and a child-centred approach)
• Confidence delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, with good behaviour management and positive relationships with pupils
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one — we can guide you through the process)
• Right to work in the UK
• Reliable, adaptable, and committed to high standards of teaching and pupil wellbeing
• A passion for inspiring young learners in their foundational years

We especially welcome applications from teachers with experience in high-demand areas such as Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), phonics delivery, supporting pupils with SEND, or creative/outdoor learning approaches.

If you're a dynamic primary teacher ready to bring your energy and expertise to schools in North Somerset and surrounding areas on a flexible basis, we'd love to welcome you to our team!

Apply now — send your CV and a brief note about your key stage preferences or specialisms to supply@educationpeopleltd.com or call 0117 325 1516 to chat with one of our consultants.

We review applications ongoing and have immediate and upcoming opportunities available.

Join a supportive agency that values its teachers and prioritises quality education — become a key part of primary schools across North Somerset and surrounding areas through Education People!

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
