Job Description
Job Title: Contract Manager
Location
Site based at Manchester Airport
Main Job Objectives:
The role will be responsible for developing a sustainability strategy, which will incorporate key recycling solutions across the airport, creating and driving a culture of improvement and innovation in all aspects of waste management activity, engagement with concessions and tenants, working collaboratively with site-based facilities teams, incorporating energy and water initiatives and delivering on Manchester Airports environmental objectives.
Strategic responsibilities
· To design and create a recycling strategy in partnership with Manchester Airport and Mitie's Key Account Manager to deliver against the key objectives
· To proactively engage, communicate, and collaborate with key Manchester Airport Stakeholders in improving waste and recycling performance across the airport
· To proactively engage, communicate, and collaborate with concessions and tenants
· To introduce innovation and waste technology across the current waste service to improve the overall environmental performance and reduce disposal costs
· Proactive review of all suppliers and service provision and costs to ensure best practice and costs are implemented
· To work with Mitie's Key Account Manager to provide waste data analysis, identifying key trends and providing detailed feedback to Manchester Airport
Operational responsibilities
· Line management responsibility for the site based waste team
· To manage waste and recycling sub-contractors, including health and safety, compliance and airside security requirements
· To work with the operational delivery teams to ensure the application of appropriate waste and recycling compliance and approaches are adhered too
· To help to provide training and education for all personnel involved in the handling and disposal of waste and recycling across the airport
· Maintain and continually review all processes and systems currently in place and to assist with any proposals for improvements required
