Role Purpose
The Senior Horse Groom will be responsible for the professional care, conditioning, and management of horses used in training, product development testing, and equestrian representation. This role requires specialist equine knowledge, independent decision-making, and responsibility for animal welfare and stable management.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-standard daily care including feeding regimes, grooming, clipping, trimming, and conditioning.
• Monitor horse health, behaviour, and fitness levels and liaise with veterinary professionals when required.
• Administer medication and treatments under veterinary guidance.
• Prepare horses for training sessions, competitions, and demonstrations.
• Assist riders/trainers during exercise and schooling sessions.
• Manage stable hygiene and yard standards.
• Maintain tack, saddlery, and associated equipment.
• Supervise junior grooms or yard assistants where required.
• Maintain accurate health and vaccination records.
• Support domestic and international horse transport arrangements.
Essential Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years’ professional experience as a groom in a competition or professional equestrian environment.
• Strong understanding of horse anatomy, nutrition, and conditioning.
• Experience administering medication under veterinary guidance.
• Ability to work independently and make welfare-based decisions.
• Willingness to work weekends and travel where required.
