Summary
The postholder will work as a Healthcare Scientist (Cardiology) in Cardiac Rhythm Management, Angiography and PCI. This is a fixed term contract that will follow a 24-month training program dependent on experience and application. Upon completion / during the postholder will be eligible to apply for a permanent invasive post at the trust as they arise over the 24-month period and post completion.

· To assist andproduceauditsasrequiredbythe TeamLeaders andClinicalServiceManager.
· ToworkwithintheCardiologyserviceasrequired.
ClinicalDuties
· Care,maintenance,andsafetychecksforallcomplexequipment youuse.
· Adheringtodepartmentprotocolsandproceduresfollowingnationalguidelines.
· Tocompetentlyundertakehaemodynamicmonitoringduringdiagnosticandinterventional cardiac catheterisation procedures.
· Competentinmanualhandlingskillsforpatientsandequipment.
· Workswithinestablishedprotocols,codesofpracticeandpolicyasaspecialist.
· Bethefirstlineresuscitationwithdefibrillatororassistanceintheinsertionofballoonpump and temporary pacing wires.
· Makesphysiciansawareofuntowardevents.
· Theabilitytoanalyseandactuponcardiaccatheterisationdata.
· Thetechnicalabilitytoprovidesupportserviceprovisionanddecisionmakingduring cardiac device implantation and follow up as an independent practitioner.
· Carriesoutdomiciliaryvisitsasrequired.
· Prioritisestheirownworkload/caseload.
· Maintainsthedevicedatabasesystemforallimplanteddevices.
· Responsiblefortraining,development andsupervisionof studentphysiologistsand junior staff who are undertaking training within the department.
· Isableto carryout,withoutsupervision,andproduceafactualreport onthefollowing: Routine ECG
