About the Role:
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Reception class within a supportive two-form entry Early Years setting, working closely with the parallel class teacher and Early Years support staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum
Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports early learning and development
Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, ensuring all children are supported to achieve their full potential
Work collaboratively with the parallel Reception teacher, teaching assistants, and the wider Early Years team
Build strong relationships with parents and carers, promoting effective home–school communication
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Maintain accurate assessment records and contribute to reporting and moderation processes
Participate fully in staff meetings, professional development, and wider school activities
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
Proven experience teaching in Early Years / Reception
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
Ability to plan creative, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A collaborative and reflective approach to teaching
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Availability to work full-time (5 days per week) from September 2026
