Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school. This role will involve supporting pupils within Key Stage 1 (KS1), helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Working closely with the class teacher, you will provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, and help pupils develop confidence and independence in their learning. You may also work with small groups or individual pupils who require additional support to help them stay engaged and progress in their studies.
The school is looking for a patient, enthusiastic and reliable individual who enjoys working with young children and has a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early learning development.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 with their learning and classroom activities
Assisting the teacher with preparing and delivering learning resources
Working with small groups or 1:1 to support pupils who need extra help
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
Supporting pupils’ confidence, independence, and social development
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Requirements
Previous experience working with KS1 pupils
A caring, patient and supportive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for working with children
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
