Summary

Location: Hybrid. Home-based/Centre-based (JTL London South).

Working pattern/hours: Full time.

Contract type: Fixed Term until 29th January 2027. Maternity cover.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on skills and experience.


About the role

Job Purpose:

Accountable and responsible for the management and delivery of apprenticeships in the designated local area within a region, against a suite of operational and quality related KPIs, including, but not limited to, financial, staff and learner performance.

To ensure the end-to-end learner journey is delivered to the standard expected delivering positive outcomes for all associated stakeholders.

The post holder will ensure the effective delivery of the learner journey through management of a regional team of Training Officers. They will focus on the effective and efficient delivery of apprenticeships within our training centres whilst maintaining strong relationships with employers and other relevant stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

To contribute to the effective and efficient management and delivery of the local business plan. This includes the development and agreement of targets and activities to support and underpin the regional plan which in turn will feed into the corporate strategic business plans.
Accountable for the delivery of agreed KPIs, financial performance, resources, and staff performance including appraisals.
To ensure that the learner journey provides an excellent, high-quality experience and is delivered to the expected JTL standard as set by the Quality and Curriculum Team with agreed targets for all the learners in learning through to achievement.
To work with the Quality and Curriculum Team to help create lean and continuously improving processes, setting out the end-to-end learner journey, including best practice for teaching and assessment.
To follow both assessment and EPA standards and contribute to the development and review of the materials and learning resources used, providing a standardised offer for all learners.
Ensure Safeguarding is always maintained throughout the local area, adhering to the policies and procedures. Follow any escalation required adhering to the statutory requirements.
Manage the assessment within the local area through the effective use of the team to meet the targets as agreed within the business plan.
Manage the individual targets at assessor, ALN and FS level, identifying any issues, suggesting proposals and mitigations of reduced delivery against target KPIs.
Ensure regular team meetings and 121’s take place ensuring consistency of delivery, sharing best practice, and escalating any issues alongside proposed solutions to the Delivery Team Manager
Ensure that the tutors and assessors work collaboratively to deliver the agreed learner reviews, attendance and achievements, each month and inform learners and employers of their progress.
Intervene with any learners and employer issues, complaints, reservations on quality of delivery to retain the learners and employers with the aim of ensuring achievement by the learners.
Report to the Delivery Team Manager any issues concerning employers and apprentices, including, but not limited to, performance of the learners, resolution of issues and deployment of appropriate resources.
To maintain an awareness of developments in JTL’s products and services, ensuring professional knowledge is always up to date across the team.
To build and maintain good working relationships with external parties, attending and assisting with relevant networks, events, and committees to promote JTL business as required.
To always ensure preparedness and readiness for internal and external inspections or audit.
Participate in identifying and sharing good practice from the local areas across JTL based on delivery experience and results to inform the next iteration of the business plan.


Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

Educated to HNC level or equivalent with 6 good O Levels/GCSEs or equivalent including Math and English (A-C).
Proven management experience against KPIs with responsibility of large teams over a specific geographic area.
Experience of remote management.
Good IT skills including use of databases/dashboards for performance information.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Driving licence and vehicle.
Live within the local area within the region responsible to limit the amount of travelling time.


Desirable:

Specific teaching or assessor trade qualification in either electrical or plumbing/heating qualifications
Working knowledge of the building services engineering and related industries
Working knowledge or experience of work-based learning and Government funded apprenticeships with the rules and associated regulations
